UK AI Data Centre Project Faces Major Power Constraint

Microsoft has reportedly withdrawn from a planned Nscale AI data centre project in Essex after concerns that sufficient grid power may not become available until the 2030s, highlighting electricity availability as one of the biggest constraints on AI infrastructure expansion. HPC could source power enabled industrial sites, private generation, battery storage projects, grid connections and alternative data centre locations and introduce them to AI infrastructure developers, creating potentially substantial property or infrastructure success fees.
